Eiichiro Kuwana is President and a Founding Principal of Cook Pine Capital. Mr. Kuwana oversees the asset allocation and manager selection processes and has responsibility for investor relations at Cook Pine Capital. Mr. Kuwana brings to Cook Pine Capital nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to starting Cook Pine Capital, Mr. Kuwana spent 12 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was a Managing Director. Throughout his career at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Kuwana worked closely with wealthy families around the globe, assisted them in investing their personal assets in both the public and private markets, and helped ensure prudent asset allocation, risk management, and wealth preservation. Moreover, Mr. Kuwana held various senior level management positions within the Investment Management and Equities divisions at Goldman Sachs in both New York and Asia. In addition, Mr. Kuwana worked at Merrill Lynch in its Money Markets Origination group based out of New York. Mr. Kuwana received an AB, magna cum laude, and an MBA from Harvard University. Mr. Kuwana serves on the board of The Nature Conservancy, Hawai'i.


Yumi Mera Kuwana is Managing Director and a Founding Principal of Cook Pine Capital. Ms. Kuwana has responsibility for business development, office management and finances at Cook Pine Capital. Ms. Kuwana was previously at Giftken.com, the Japanese affiliate of Giftcertificates.com, where she oversaw the business expansion efforts in the Japanese market. Prior to Giftken.com, Ms. Kuwana was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley & Co., where she was a senior member in the institutional research area for Japanese equities. Her major clients included top tier hedge funds and global money management firms. Ms. Kuwana received a BS from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard University. Ms. Kuwana is board member of the YWCA Greenwich.


Patrick Neligan is Director of Operations and Strategy at Cook Pine Capital. Mr. Neligan has responsibility for the overall operations and compliance of Cook Pine Capital and is also involved in business development, strategic planning, and client/investment manager relationships. Previous to joining Cook Pine Capital, Mr. Neligan spent 7 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was a Vice President. During his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Neligan helped manage and oversee the daily operations of the Equities Division and was a key member in formulating and implementing strategic initiatives across the globe. Mr. Neligan was also a point person for the division's client relationship management team where he helped service many of the firm's top hedge fund clients. He also had previously served as unit manager based in Hong Kong responsible for helping manage and oversee Capital Market teams across Asia. Mr. Neligan received a BA from The University of Connecticut.


Shinya Deguchi, CFA is a Director of Research of Cook Pine Capital. Working closely with Mr. Kuwana, Mr. Deguchi is responsible for investment due diligence regarding new and existing managers and for portfolio management analysis. Mr. Deguchi was previously a hedge fund analyst at Stewardship Investment Advisors, LLC, located in Greenwich, CT. Prior to joining Stewardship, Mr. Deguchi served as a financial analyst at Melco Group, the largest computer peripheral manufacturer in Japan. Mr. Deguchi is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Institute and New York Society of Security Analysis. Mr. Deguchi received a BS in Economics with Cum Laude from George Washington University in 2003 and founded the Kendo Club at that university. Mr. Deguchi holds the fourth rank in kendo and participates in various national kendo tournaments in the United States and Japan.


Andrew Jing joined Cook Pine Capital LLC as Associate in March, 2010. Before joining Cook Pine Capital, Andrew was an M&A analyst at Shinsei Bank in Tokyo where his duties included research, quantitative analysis, deal origination, marketing, client visits and execution assistance. He graduated from Harvard University with an AB in 2008. He is fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese.


Belinda Keenan joined Cook Pine Capital LLC as the IT Manager in November, 2007. Before joining Cook Pine Capital, Belinda was an Office Administrator in Australia. In addition to her primary role of management and oversight of all IT related issues, Belinda's responsibilities include being Office Manager, providing analytic support to the research team, and assisting the operations team. She has traveled extensively throughout the world and is conversant in Japanese.
